Ok, so the new U2 song, Vertigo, is being played on radio stations around the world, but not in the U.S. That's ok, because it's easy enough to get an mp3 of it thanks to sites like www.interference.com. Or get it directly, here: http://g0rman.com/u2/
It's a recording from a radio station. I'm listening to it now. The song itself, it's pretty good. just guitar, bass and drums. Pretty rockin, pretty short - just 2 verses, a bridge or 2, an Edge solo and 3 choruses. Clocks in at just over 3 minutes, which would make it the shortest U2 song in 2 decades, I think. Good hook. Better than the lead single from the last album, Beautiful Day which was like rock, but with less calories. Hmm, no drum machines, or orchestrations, or keyboard trumpets. He's singing about rock and roll, kids that can't dance, and Jesus being around someone's neck. Overall, on first listen, it's very good.
